Is it you, or is it your hormones?

You have probably already decided it’s you. That you aren’t coping well enough, that everyone is tired and you just handle it worse. This puts one other possibility in front of you. One that a great many women are never offered.

What is inside

  • The two things almost nobody tells you. That hormonal change can begin in your mid thirties, and that it can arrive early for reasons that have nothing to do with age at all.
  • The symptom list you were never handed. You may well have the hot flashes and the night sweats. Nobody warns you about the brain fog, the lost concentration, the executive function coming apart, or the anxiety with nothing attached to it.
  • What else it could be, honestly. These symptoms overlap with thyroid disease, iron deficiency, depression, ADHD and several other things, and pretending otherwise would not help you.
  • One sentence to say at your next appointment, and what to do if you are told it is stress.
Who writes this

Written by an MSW. Written because nobody handed this list over when it would have helped most.

Educational only. This is not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a substitute for care from a qualified clinician, and it does not create a clinical relationship. Symptoms have many possible causes and only your own clinicians can assess yours.
